Security Zone
The security zone is available on the QbProtect product. |
The security zone will generate an alarm from activity observed through the point cloud or detected objects in the zone’s cuboid. Internally, each security zone variant uses a highly configurable alarm logic to minimize false alarms.
The common output for all security zone variants is an alarm flag combined with some pre-alarm information. If an alarm is active, the alarm flag is set to \(true\). The alarm flag is set to \(false\) when no alarm is currently active.
Application
- Perimeter protection
-
Generate alarms when malicious activity is observed around a perimeter (e.g., a physical or virtual fence).
- Protection of critical infrastructure
-
Monitoring the surrounding area of power stations or other important buildings.
- Detect direction of movement
-
Generate alarms only when objects in the scene are moving in a certain direction (e.g., towards a protected area).
Variants
Point-based zone
This zone uses changes in the number of detected points within the zone’s volume to generate an alarm.
Object-based zone
This zone uses detected objects and specific object attributes (size, lifetime, traveled distance) within the zone’s volume to generate an alarm.
Directional zone
This zone uses detected objects and specific object attributes (size, movement direction) at the zone’s separation plane to generate an alarm.
Output
All security zone variants share a common set of output states. More state information is published by each specific security zone, allowing introspection and understanding of the alarm context.
