Percept

Percept is a system component which offers advanced on-device processing. It uses 3D point cloud data and transforms it into actionable data. The supported areas of application are security (e.g., perimeter protection) and volume (e.g., bulk material measurement). Both applications are bound to a specific product variant (e.g., QbProtect or QbVolume).

Security

Requires a Blickfeld QbProtect.

The security mode of the Percept system is focussed on real-time processing of 3D point cloud data. The data is transformed by a sequence of processing steps in order to generate alarms on zone level.

Motion detection

Separation of the input data into background (static) and foreground (in motion).

Object tracking

Detection and tracking of objects in the scene.

Zone state computation

Compute alarm states for all configured zones.

Alarm history

Event-based capturing of snapshots and scene activity before and after an alarm.

Volume

Requires a Blickfeld QbVolume.

The volume mode of the Percept system processes the 3D point cloud data at a fixed trigger interval. The interval can be adjusted from \(10\) seconds to several hours between measurements. The input data is transformed by a sequence of processing steps in order to calculate the measured volume on zone level.

Point cloud acquisition & fusion

The local point cloud is queried. All input point clouds are geometrically combined if more than one sensor is active in the sensor setup.

Zone volume state computation

Calculate the measured volume in \(m^{3}\) and the corresponding volume map for each zone in the scene.
